Hero Churches

St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Camarillo collected more than 885 signatures on the weekend of March 29 and 30. Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana sent in 1155 signatures on April 2 - this was one of several shipments of signatures from this evangelical church.
Mrs. Myrt Ellis, chairwoman of the Respect Life Committee at Mary Magdalene, attributed the success of the signature-gathering drive to her pastor, Fr. Jim Stehly, who after each Mass, touchingly recounted the story of Sarah's tragic death.
